assalamualaikum and very good morning to Dr. Tan and all my friend..

I disagree with Noor Baizura about Malay language has also been aquavalent to the international language and should use the Malay language, because I think even Malay language has also been aquavalent to the international language, but for study in design, most of the notes or reference books available in the mass media is in English and although Malay language is the official language and national language but English is very important for advancement.

In my first opinion, English can provide confident as the cost of overseas animation using in English. So, we as citizen of Malaysia, a study in the field of design, better learn to use English because it is easy to promote a product or something that we design and portable to others countries. This is because we must have the vision and mission to move forward.

Second,  use of English can help student learn if be connect to other countries such as UK, Australia, Japan and other else. Although student know only basic English, it be help student communicate with friends or teachers there. Knowledge will be also help the student study more complete and comfortable.

Third, and even now, to get a job, especially the design, most of the interview using English, so when the lessons we learn in English, it makes it possible to go interview. Moreover, most of the design uses the English.

(Assigment) Critique Challenge

The chosen animation for this aesthetic evaluation is Larva. One criteria has been set based on relativisme.  i.e, the criteria is nationalism, love, helping and lastly beauty. For nationalism, audience must have a higher spirit of nationalism when watching finish the video of the animation.  For beauty, audience must feel like to watching the video of the animation if the character design is very attractive. The third criteria is helping. Audience will helping each other with sincerity after finish watching the video of the animation. And the last of criteria is love. Audience will love and have desire to love others when finished watching the video of the animation.

I choose Larva animation to make an evaluation. In this animation, spirit nationalism not in this story, and no impact on the audience. For me, to raise the spirit of nationalism to the audience is, the director Should add nationalism scene. In this animation, I think, the nature of helping each other not in this story, and viewers can not follow suit. For me, to be a good example in this story, director need to enter the scene where the larva must have the nature of helping each other. What I like in this story is that this story has feeling love with each other. This can be a role model to every audience. This criteria is also the criteria I want in each story. character design I've seen in this story is very interesting. This may attract the audience to watch.

My friend has been set their own criteria. First, Noor Baizura has set four criteria, there is smile, sadly, loving and friendly.  Hazleen Anylia has set crying, sympathy, laugh and happy. Then, Dalila Sha’irah has set the criteria is logical thinking, understand, moral value and the last criteria is happy ending. Among my friend, there is similarity with my friends, Noor Baizura. The criteria is loving. What I can see in this discussion, everyone have their own perception about how to evaluate the animation. Different people, have a different opinion. For example, we choose the same animation, the animation is Larva, but we have choose different criteria to evaluate the video. It we can see in this discussion, we have been take decision that, we take the best two criteria from each other. The criteria that we choose is appropriate with the evaluation concept. The criteria from Noor Baizura is friendly and loving. Second is Hazleen Anylia sympathy and happy. Criteria from Dalila sha’irah is logical thinking and moral value and from myself, I choose criteria is beauty and nationalism. This criteria, we use to evaluate the Larva.

                Conclusion about the evaluation concept, there is four. Subjectivism, objectivism, relativism and emotivism. From this, everyone choose one and after that, we set the criteria.  Everyone have their own criteria to evaluate the animation. Lastly, we decide to choose eight the best criteria. We hope criteria will help us to evaluate the animation. No one can say no to take criteria that we chosen because everybody have their own opinion and perception.

Emotional Design: Why we love (or hate) the design of everyday things

Aesthetic is perception and someones ideology on evaluate art, and it also include sense involvement in production context and art object appreciation. Apart from that, aesthetic is process understand how something made judgements on art objects. Aesthetic readily understandable as quality sense that beautiful in thinking and human perception on something. Many linguists and literature talk matter aesthetic, especially related to aesthetic language and literary work. Aesthetic language is core that based on existence aesthetics element in literary work. From the language too , it traceable through aesthetics element in sentence description, diction, word structure, rhythm and the language communication with social life culture. Some also say that religion message is also one of the sources which issues aesthetics element. Language also basically did not bring any meaning, unless after are arranged in rule or the system that certain. Rule or this system which made the language able to bring meaning that is common cited as style. Aesthetic depends on 2 factors namely language and art object. It also is assessment and association with current development.

            Aesthetic is also determining factor that is very important in choosing a product, especially consumer product , that is product aesthetic value. Other than brand, first thing that can attract consumer's interest on a product is design aspect, although other factors such as price and specification also played equally important role. Aesthetic value a product or system depends on various strands product shape like colour, form, line, texture and proportion. Relationship between this elements also important where it determine consumer perceptions on quality of a product. Only by depends on aesthetic element like colour and line or texture combination, a product may be sighted steady or otherwise, strong or weak, modern or old, and elegant or cheap.

            Plan are one process linking design elements whether it similar or contra, or arranged and compiled to look in a integration that is attractive. Process plan was part from our life daily, it can be achieved naturally or produced. Design produced in various form and appearance and only need to scan meticulously to find out exist. Form, appearance, colour and texture join become a union which produces what called plan. Design element consisting of point, line, form, value, texture and colour. This elements combination produce a form and feeling that is distinctive to clients in addressing or propose a design new product. Specification and design need define scope of the problem, expectation, limitation and final settlement that must be reached. This need us analyse need, and consequently define and decide need and expectation. Before continuing with process plan, our possibility apt to straight to solution is based on problem subject without comprehending problem real need. Initial analysis carried out aim to understand overall need, determine what need that need to be carried out by using source type and right time. Study early enable designer identify important factors which will decide product shape, function, features, consumer, price, credibility and factors others.Design specification also very important in understand need and market value in the future. This analysis is a method that is very important and a major step in deciding problem definition and in generating specification and problem need and the features.

            In conclusion, specification is very important in invention process. We should ensure that specification produced contain details that is suitable and sufficient. It need to always referred when staying in early stage plan and make product. Specification also important to be referred when process plan end for final assessment purpose. Everyone possess ability to interpret idea and experience, same with matters seen or felt, into a form that is arranged. In all work design there was design elements such as space filled or left empty, various types of line, three dimensional form, colour, value and also texture. Ways of how this elements used or combined able determine quality of the outcome. As designer effort to express himself and produce something meaning full from material used, they realising that that through balance process, movement, repetition, emphasis and contrast on design elements, a work that attract and high quality able to be produced. This process known as design principle. Design principle is concept to order visual information. It is an illustration on how can scan and process visual information and was the idea to produce two-dimensional image. Design principle will help us rule on how to use design elements.

            Lastly, it can build aesthetic development from emotional aspect and cognitive and increase comprehension on visual language's image and it can learn language style appear. It can also inculcate individual comprehension on each other and could give awareness that not all people look work with way that is same. Apart from that, it can enhance the capability someones thoughts by can make comparison, difference, analyse and evaluate work. And lastly, it can move thinking power that is sharper.
